Autumn pathway

autumn-pathwayWhile on a tour of British Columbia, I spent a couple of days in Smithers. During that time I took a walk through a local park which I discovered a forest of poplar trees that had mostly lost their autumn leaves. I was enthralled with the graphic appeal of these tall trees with bark similar to birch with their own distinct quality. The feeling of autumn was definitely in the air along with the scent of decaying leaves and foliage colour in hues of red to green. To gain the full expanse of the forest I used my super wide 17-40mm f4 lens at the 17mm setting along with my full frame Canon 5D Mark II. I shot a number of views including converting some to black and white but this image is one of my favourites.

Feel the presence

Wait silently with anything, and you will discover a new phenomenon which was always there, but of which you were not alert – not aware of it. Your mind will become completely silent as you feel the presence of the ever-living existence. You will be just a part in it, just a note in the great symphony. No burden, no tension...the drop has fallen into the ocean. ~ Osho
