The awareness of death brings me closer to life

The awareness of death brings me closer to life. Once I get past the morass of feeling sorry for myself that death is nearby as I watch friends die and am aware of others who are not far from that reality, I realize that death is actually a friend. Not only does it relieve us of the pain of living it makes us aware of how precious life is. Death is not our enemy. Death opens the door to infinity and makes us aware that infinity exists alongside us. There’s a pulse that exists, a presence that could be called God although that word only exists because of ingrained belief. Otherwise it is silent. Yes spirit loves to speak and I enjoy listening. But in between those words of wisdom and inspiration silence draws me in. God says I am here. There is nothing to fear. I am a place of comfort, safety and peace. Silence. There the pulse of life resides. There is nothing to believe in. It is only to be felt. The grace, the beauty of it, the simplicity of it. And to think that outside the serenity of this realm lies the chaos and insanity of our 3D world that only wants to believe in an idea of it. What choose an idea when you can experience the real thing?

I am no longer interested in that idea when the experience of existence in this moment is here anytime I make myself available. Thank you death for opening my eyes to the splendour of life and how simple it really is. For without contrast how can we truly appreciate life? Without darkness we cannot fathom light. Without hatred how can we know love? Contrast makes it possible to see the full spectrum of existence. And for that I am grateful.

Feel the presence

Wait silently with anything, and you will discover a new phenomenon which was always there, but of which you were not alert – not aware of it. Your mind will become completely silent as you feel the presence of the ever-living existence. You will be just a part in it, just a note in the great symphony. No burden, no tension...the drop has fallen into the ocean. ~ Osho
