It has been said …

It has been said that God is everywhere, that God is here, yet other than what is written or talked about we know nothing about God. It is all talk. It is easy to say we can feel God but that is predetermined by what you have been told about God. That is not to say I am an atheist or a non-believer of God. I can most definitely feel my own presence as well as the presence of all that surrounds me. But what about God? I can say that I am directly linked with Godor The Great Mystery or The Source of All That Is, but that in itself is an unqualified statement. I don’t really know anything about God and I have a feeling that either does anyone else regardless of what they have to say on the subject.

So why even talk about God or mention that word? It’s because other than using another name to illustrate the same thing, there is no other way to describe that which cannot be labelled or explained. Science certainly tries to. Science can explain a great deal about the physical aspects of life. It cannot explain, however, why we are here except to say we were born because of our parents. Of course science can shed light on the make up of our physical bodies but it cannot account for our souls, assuming there is a soul. Religion explains that with no proof other than what is written in all the various scriptures. Spirituality explains the soul based on those who have connected to the spirit world. Because few tuned-in individuals can do that, the vast majority of people living on this planet can only rely on what other people have to say on the subject. If they choose to do so, they blindly go to their place of worship or listen to their neighbourhood spiritual channel to find out what’s going on.

And you wonder why the planet is going mad? The general populace is in suicide mode thanks to governments and corporations who will not do anything about the destructive nature of our economic system where making money comes ahead of our welfare or the environment. This while the majority of the world is in slave mode in regards to survival and being forced to listen to the ramblings of their choice of religion or political affiliation. All this knowing that none of us living on this planet at this time will be alive within 120 years unless someone somehow manages to live longer. I know that if that was all I focused on I would go nuts!

So what now? It’s easy to pass judgment but there are valid solutions without getting into total anarchy which for some may be the only solution.

Besides living in a peaceful, healthy, pollution free, sustainable environment, there is the matter of happiness and spiritual nourishment. Idealist yes, impossible no. It’s all a matter of desire. How bad do you want this? Apathy will breed more apathy. War will breed more war. Greed will breed more greed. Happiness will breed more happiness. And on it goes.

I can only offer one thing: feel your presence. Forget about God. No one is going to save us. Feeling your presence focuses on the energy of who you are. It is the energy, I feel, that we take with us when we leave our bodies after death. It is offers permanence to a temporary solution. Our natural desire is to love and be loved. Those who cannot experience this basic requirement of life become greedy and angry. Then comes the desire to destroy rather than create. Feeling your presence puts you in touch with your heart. Once that happens there is no desire to fight or manipulate others to get what you want. Once in your heart you will want to share the love that you feel. If this can spread in a big enough way, then the world can be healed and we can live in peace and harmony within a unified planet. I do not believe that is impossible even if it seems that way.

Feel the presence

Wait silently with anything, and you will discover a new phenomenon which was always there, but of which you were not alert – not aware of it. Your mind will become completely silent as you feel the presence of the ever-living existence. You will be just a part in it, just a note in the great symphony. No burden, no tension...the drop has fallen into the ocean. ~ Osho
